The Public Relations Department of Persepolis World Heritage Base reported that different activities take place every year in every country, under the name of “clean-earth” on April 22, by the “clean earth” week. The clean earth day occurred at the same time with clean tourism day on April 22, 2017.
The head of Persepolis World Heritage Base pointed to this fact that United Nation has called this day as “clean-earth day” after receiving the first warnings of the harmful effects of plastic and its derivations, in 1969. Along this day, Monday the second day of Ordibehesht 1396, a ceremony held on the Persepolis World Heritage Site and Pardis Garden, named “clean-tourism”. There were a group of students and tourists who glorified this day and tried to clean up the site, including Pardis Garden, which attracted international tourists too.
Rezaei Monfared put emphasis on keeping the earth and historical, cultural sites clean from population and cleaning them up in “clean-earth day” and other days during the year from various contaminants; and said “before the new year on ‘Monuments and Historical Sites Cleanup Day’ a lot of cultural heritage lovers cleaned the Persepolis site, its entrance axis and Pardis Garden”.
Rezaei Monfared declared that keeping historical sites clean, where international tourists visit, is effective in transferring Iranian rich culture of protecting and considering the cleanliness of environment to the world, and every Iranian is the ambassador of earth and environment cleanliness.
